I sent off a CV/Covering letter for a few jobs yesterday and recieved a phone call from one of the employers today asking me to come for an interview. They asked me to come in TOMORRROW, but i live across the country. They also said that they can only do an interview with me tomorrow, but they are flexible on the tine.

Is it me or does this have scam written all over it? If it wasn't for the fact that they can only do it tomorrow, and didn't give me one days notice then it would seem reasonable. What do you think?

It's for CO & CO Marketing. The position is Marketing trainee.

Hmm, it's not on google which seems odd...I'd be wary of what the job actually entails if it does exist-you could end up door to door selling.

That's exactly what i am thinking. I am always wary of a company that doesn't have a website, especially in the year 2009.

I think i might give this one a miss. It just seems like a lot of effort for what most like will end up being door to door selling, especially as they were insisting that tomorrow is the only day that they can do an interview.

Aside from whether you agree with door-to-door selling, there's a lot of very quick turn-arounds right now. I've been applying for jobs as I'm moving to a new area, and any that have replied have wanted to interview me within 48 hours, and most wanted me to start within a week. It isn't practical, but I wouldn't worry about the speed of the turnaround in general.

That definitely sounds like door-to-door sales to me.

The phrases it uses just scream it.

    "Marketing trainee"

    "Can grow into management"
