Hmm, not especially - but he was on Jonathan Ross talking about the film and it sounded pretty good :yep:

Nah, decided to give it a swerve as the third remake of something is invariably not good. Plus it was directed by Scott, who was a really poor choice - all explosions and no tension.
I never realised it was a remake :p: I personally thought it was quite good, though I suppose I see what you mean about the explosions and no tension, I'd think it would be better if the guy in charge of the train didn't really shout as much and threaten people with his gun and remained quiet for the time they had to get them the hostage money.

I saw that. Jonathan Ross was a tool trying to act all pretentious, I loved it when Tarantino just shot him down. Although Death Proof was rubbish. :p:

It was actually a 1974 movie, that was then remade as a TV show in the late 90s, before warping into it's current incarnation.

From the sounds of things, it's probably a perfectly serviceable action film, but that just sounds a bit deflating given it's pedigree. The original was this incredibly tense movie with great dialogue between the two main characters, a real character study. Whereas it sounds like they decided that wouldn't sell tickets now and just decided to revert to blowing **** up.

Plus, it had John Travolta. I can't deny he was pretty good in it, but I still can't watch him without expecting him to burst into a shakey rendition of Grease Lightning.

Alas no, I have been on holiday for 2 weeks = no films.

May have to try and watch it.

Movies should be about blowing things up, if I want something with character development i will read a book. Put it in movies if you want but don't let it get in the way of things getting blown up/melted/vaporised :yep:
