    AWK

I've had litres taken out of me and I can say that it depends on how decent the nurse is at taking it. :yep:

Most painful time I've ever had a needle in me was either getting my thumbnail pierced (to relieve blood building up) or a massssive needle directly into the main nerve in my foot.

Actually the foot one hurt like a *****. it wins!
Awww, that must have been hell. My gran had an infection under her nail once (owing to a stupid nail salon :mad2:), she had to get pus drained out, I would have died if I had to experience that
    (Original post by FFCrusader)
I've had two blood tests in my life I think, first one hurt like HELL as it was using that butterfly needle thing... was not a good experience!

Second one was for my Hep B thing to check it set and that went alright

I think donating blood hurts less :erm:
I had a less painfull experience when I asked for specialist nurse :yep:
Last one I had was for Hep B antibody thing
I never had to get a butterfly thing, but mother did, poor thing, she has same problem as me, tricky veins to find and pierce
I wanted to donate but travelling to another country doesn't do you any favour in that respect :p:

Really? Well done for him, Mr Clever Ferret
If I get 1st degree in Chem , I might even be considered for Oxford GEP, though I obviously have to get it first :p: And even then the competition might be so cut-throat that I will never even get looked at

    That's usually a way to go :p:

Butterfly thing does hurt...I have small veins also :emo:

I wanted to donate recently but no one would go with me

I'm not allowed to due to my navel piercing and tattoo, which I think is ridiculous cos I've had my hep B tests since both and they've both been clear.

Also having a v v v uncomfortable convo with a guy from work I went with last year, even though he has a gf he still insists on telling me very...inappropriate stuff and asking questions that I obviously don't want to answer.

    MORTIFIED.

My dad was dead set against me donating strange for a doctor, really
But my veins are not just small, they seem to dissapear as soon as the needle is out of the case maybe its just as well I didn't get to be a doc, imagine all the annual check-ups

Really? Maybe he knows something that the NHS aren't telling us :eyebrow: All blood donors shall be harvested

 But the thing is, once you get use to the needles your veins might not hide so much :p:

Anyways it's late now so I shall now be off to bed! Good night everyone present
