I'm going to go to a festival next year, I'm determined! I may go as a volunteer with oxfam because I know someone who did that and she got the festival for free and only did 3 shifts.

I'm currently enjoying a story my friend is telling me, he works in Waterstones and as a medic was called up to deal with a fresher medic, who went on the spend over £100 in textbooks.

    Now thats die hard like.

Buying tonnes of books is pretty stupid like, especially when you haven't even started. In this guys case he's going to Glasgow too, and we've got a v v v extensive library so you don't really need to spend tonnes on books. His parents obviously have too much money and he's very eager! :woo:

 I am the same, which makes me really happy as I like to own my own books and am very particular about that. In our freshers pack the person in charge of the MedSoc said to please not buy any books as my college have a tradition of giving the textbooks to each person for free. I also get £50 given to me for any further books I want to buy

Oh, the advantages of going to the richest Oxbridge college...

What can I say? I like to have my own copies of things too, so I won't feel bad about keeping on renewing books out of the library :p:
