Recently splurged a bit on clothes (£250 in 10 days eeek) and i bought a pair of Ted Baker trousers, trouble is, its a 32R which i thought would fit perfectly. But its one of those annoying trousers with two clips and a button. As a result, i can barely fit into them!
Are there any ways to stretch the waist so it fits better?

Trying them on would have been helpful. You could take them to an alteration tailor (there's usually a service at any dry cleaners) and ask if there's anything they can do. Seam allowance permitting, they should be able to help.

Failing that, just take them back.

jeans should give a bit - especially over time and if you don't wash them on a hot cycle
