    hi, i am currently doing my a2 coursework and am looking into how both mass and velocity of a marble affects crater diameter and depth. At the moment i am writing a prediciotn,and was wondering what i would expect to see as i increased both the mass and velocity of the amrble (with physics theory behind it). any help with what i would expect to see or any useful sources would be really appreciated, thanks

    Think about what energy transfers happen on impact

    when you change the mass of the marble, for example, what effect does this have on its K.E.?

    A marble with more energy will make a bigger and a deeper crater as it will take more time to deccelerate and / or will create a bigger force as its rate of change of momentum will be greater
