    Sandpaper is being used?

I actually can't be physically present when I hear people using sandpaper!

It's like some sort of condition, not a phobia, because I don't fear it, but it physically effects me to the point where I have to leave....

    What is this called?
    Why does it happen?

    Pos rep for best answer.

Gualoxartophobia = Fear of sand paper.

there isn't a reason why we have phobias like this.

I have a fear of nails scraping on rough surfaces , it sounds horrid.

Do you get goosebumps as well?

It's a common occurrence - metal cutlery on dishes; scratching nails on paper/bottom of a mug...etc

Nails scraping on a silky material is h-o-r-r-i-d. when i was younger and we had this old sofa with that kind of material, my mum would have to scrape her long fingernails on it all the time and it made me feel like ripping my own fingernails off imagining what it feels like to scratch it - ugh

I cannot stand it when the material of a waterproof jacket comes into contact with itself. Argh, even the thought of it is making me feel uneasy. Really just the worst..
