I practically lived on TSR for about 2 weeks not too long ago but lately I've got so bored of people on here and their attitudes so I've stayed off it for a good couple of days and to be honest, my self-esteem and how much more sociable I've become has shot up.

I actually became really cynical and negative when I was on here quite alot...

I know thats the extreme because I was on here a fair bit, but what does TSR do you? Does it change how you are with people in the real world? In comparison to ur real friends when u hang out with them, how do people on here compare?

    Wondered if its just me?

Please keep anon or delete as I know alot of people on here outside TSR.

Er no. I personally only go on TSR when I have nothing else I want to do. I think you would change as a person if you did anything for 2 weeks non stop mate.

    Variation is the key.

I think TSR actually improved my social skills, tbh. You learn to speak to different people on a regular basis and also to people you don't know so I've become a lot more sociable - both with people who i've just met and with people who I know already IRL.

I think that may be just me though....

So by that logic, I've changed as a person many, MANY times Riiiiiiiight...

It gives me an interesting insight into other people who I wouldn't meet otherwise. For example, my attitude towards homosexuality is less homophobic now because of TSR. I also feel I get girls better by reading the various topics females post.

Granted there's a hell of a lot of snark and cynicism but it helps stop this place being boring. I've got some great lulz from this site so I'm not packing my bags anytime soon.

TSR gives me things to talk about in the real world without having to research stuff myself. Also, I can steal the funny jokes people sometimes come up with. :cute:

TSR seems to be full of angry nerds with superiority complexes who spend their nights masturbating onto their GCSE/ A level results certificates

I think as long as you keep it as just something to amuse yourself and it isnt your only interaction with other humans..
The best forums are the ones where the percentage of people who will give you f-off answers for the lawls is larger than the percentage of people who want to be really personal and serious.

    But thats a personal opinion.

I think it makes me more confident as I can speak to like minded people. If I spent all day arguing in general discussion then it might make me anti social and cynical but I've found a great bunch of people I talk to regularly so it's part of my real life not a replacement. It just happens there's more like minded people on here than I know around me at the moment.

I came onto TSR mainly for advice on universities etc as it gave some much information and good feedback, now I've started to move to giving advice in them sections and my own thoughts, it has actually given me lots of info on what to expect regarding money issues etc. Now I've become more involved with giving advice on Health and relationships. atm it's summer and it can get boring when your not doing much in the day so just come one here.

So you're back because...? If you seriously think that TSR is affecting you so much, you should probably just steer clear.

Personally, I love TSR. There's always something interesting to have a look at. And threads in H&R to laugh at. I can always cheer myself up just by looking in here
