    its just clockwise = anticlockwise, not all syllabi have moments it comes up more in mechanics and its not in our physics and i do stats rather than mechanics, Id much rather do bmat than ukcat,

    Moment (Nm) = Force (N) x Perpendicular distance from the pivot. (m)

    N = newtons and m = metres

    The moments anti-clockwise = the moments clockwise (when the object is in equilibrium) - it also means that the moments upwards and the moments downwards are equal.

    That's all I remember from Physics. Was it anything specific? :ninja:

    Not really upwards and downwards but on a diagram they are drawn as upwards and downwards. (They can't draw them in any other direction :p:). The key thing with moments is to LOOK AT THE UNITS (they try and trip you up with metres and centimetres) and remember that everything balances out, (most of the time) :yes:
