Some of the questions were impossible, some of the ones I should have known I didn't answer well! All in all very hard.

Saturday? Didn't realise they did weekend interviews, though is it because of your skiing trip thing?
John's are interviewing mathmos from Saturday to Tuesday, so it's not merely due to the ski trip [although I might have been interviewed later in the aforementioned interval, but the college agreed to interview me on Saturday so I only lose one day of skiing], and there are some other colleges interviewing this weekend - I know that a mathmo at Sidney Sussex has an interview this weekend.

    How was it?

    the short version:
written test: ok - on the weirdest topic EVER
    French interview - disastorous
Spanish interview - quite well i think

In all fairness, I don't think I'll get in. I don't mind, it's only a university. I could always apply there for postrgraduate study if I decided I wanted to do that sort of thing.

It probably went better than you think - it probably felt like it went disastrous because they were pushing you in interview, as they knew you could handle the tough stuff

    to expand on the disastorous:
during my reading aloud in french, I was shaking so much I physically couldn't get some words out.. we attempted to discuss the passage in french and he just gave up in the end.... and then the other half of the interview was based on a play I'd read and some of it was okay, but I was mostly like erm erm erm. I said I don't know so many times. It really was
