We get told at 7.15am if we are closed
Lucky! Our teachers don't bother until school ACTUALLY starts - when it got closed there were a lot of people who couldn't get back home as at my school everyone generally lives quite far away so the school didn't let them home until 12:30 when their parents could come and collect them if they could.

But my Mum had already decided it was too bad for us to even attempt to get into school, luckily for me. :p:

They did that to us last time and considering they had to drive people on minibuses about 20 miles in each direction from school they probably realised it was best not to try. I've been told I'm not going in if it snows or is too icy because I will be relying on an already dodgy train service.

Yeah quite a few people live roughly 25 miles from the school and they all get the coaches that take them. But the coaches just don't bother if they know it's really bad as it's too dangerous really.

London always seems to grind to a halt at a flake of snow....
We were reading in the paper today something about their 38 gritters (which doesn't sound like a lot) and some blokes on quad-bikes...an amusing thought

Then again, I don't actually know what the snow is like in london at the moment!

Lovely question for the mathematically bored:
    Spoiler:
    Show
Suppose we have four points A(0,0), B(1,0), C(0,1) and D(1,1), so they form a square of side length 1. Now let us 'reflect points in points' in any way we want. By this we mean, say we reflected point A in point B, then we take A to the point (2,0), or say we reflected point B in D, then we take B to the point (1,2).

Is there a sequence of reflections that will make the quadrilateral ABCD a square of side length 2?

Our school is open but anyone about two miles east can't get in and the trains are failing so anyone relying on trains also get in, plus it's supposedly like an ice rink :nothing:
