What the hell is a frenulum? And showing it is no probs seriously. What is weird is when you go in for stomach pains, he feels your stomach goes lower and lower and then randomly cups you. I dunno if thats usual or what haha

You probably don't need it. Infact I'm pretty sure you won't. Imagine the pain afterwards... and some girls prefer smaller penises.
But you'll have to get over your fear of the doctor if you do want to go through with it.

Is that not what you're on about? :s-smilie: Well I'm not going to act like I know what I'm on about, I origionally thought the thread was about rhinoplasty :p: I'll just leave now...
Trust me, doctors have seen it all before and then some.

The frenulum is the bit on the underside of the penis attacting the end of the foreskin to the glans (the 'tip' of the penis). Colloquially known as the 'banjo string'.

I'm pretty sure this is what I need, the frenulum on my penis is just too short. But what I'm concerned about is how I go about getting one, could really do with the advice of anyone who's had this operation. I can't bear the thought of showing my doctor my crown jewels :frown:

Yeah! I've gotten so many compliments on my amazingly huge... fre...nu...lum?
If its causing you problems see your doc. He won't mind. It should be fairly simple to fix nothing too serious.

What makes you think its too short?

I've heard that instead of a frenuloplasty, applying betamethasone cream might solve it. But I suppose if the doc is going to prescribe it he needs to see the frenulum first :frown:
Hi,

I've been in a similar situation for quite some time - I have phimosis (tight foreskin) and frenulum breve (tight frenulum). Finally decided to go to my GP in April - to my horror, my regular GP was off and his replacement was a, young female doc. I was almost going to pull out and say I had a cold, but I blasted on through it telling her I'd been searching on the internet and this is what I thought the problem was.

She was fairly helpful but inexperienced (she actually asked me what the internet suggested). I can forgive this as she did seem like a new GP (so don't let that put you off). She went and seeked a second opinion and my appointment with the urologist was secured.

The urologist appointment (June) was very swift and professional. He had a quick look and said, yes that's fairly tight, what you need is a frenuloplasty. So that is where I'm currently at - sitting on the waiting list for the operation.

Looking forward to getting it over with to see the results. If you need any more information, just ask.
how long is the waiting list?

I've got the same problems, I'm concerned that some stupid surgeon will get it wrong and cut off too much/too little. what is the waiting time?
They were unable to give me details of how long the waiting list would be. However, I received a letter in the post in June to confirm that I was on the waiting list.

The letter contained contact details and a question at the bottom 'Would you be available at five days notice in the event of a cancellation?' I only got round to sending the form back to them around 20th July. I got a phone call on Friday 31st July saying there was a cancellation for Monday and so I took it.

Had the operation yesterday.

First had a quick chat with a nurse who took my details and brought me into the changing rooms where I changed into an operating gown. I was then brought to a private waiting area outside the theatre where another (more senior) nurse came and discussed the procedure with my and I signed the consent form.

In the operating theatre there was the surgeon (urologist), someone helping him, a nurse at my side talking to me to distract me, and maybe another two nurses in the background.

I was having the operation under local anaesthetic so that involved having two injections into the penis. This did hurt a bit. The procedure then took around 15-20mins - I couldn't see what was going on as they had a small screen at my waist.

I was then taken to a nursing area where I was looked after for around a half hour. I had to urinate before they allowed me to leave, so after numerous cups of tea I was on my way. All in all the process took less than two hours.

There was a fair amount of bleeding all of yesterday but it eventually stopped and I haven't bled today. I had to take some painkillers once I got home also (recommended by the nurse) to ease the slight discomfort. The surgeon recommended retracting the foreskin in the shower daily to allow the wound to be cleaned. It all looks a bit of a mess at the minute - there are stitches in place which will dissolve in 7-10 days after which I guess I'll have a better idea of what's happened.

Any questions, please feel free to ask.

If you can't pull the foreskin fully back, or it hurts when you try, then you probably have a frenulum breve and need frenuloplasty.

I had the frenuloplasty operation done a few months ago and it was probably the second best decision i've made in my life. It lasts about 3 or 4 minutes tops and doesn't hurt at all - the doctor uses a local anaesthetic. It's a little sensitive afterwards (no sex or one-man shows allowed for about 2 weeks) but there's no residual pain as some have suggested.

If you don't have it you can risk snapping your banjo string during sex - the gushing blood tends to be a mood-killer - and blowjobs are pretty much a non-starter.

It took me years to get up the courage to have the op but i wish i'd done it earlier. All the insecurity i'd felt evaporated and once you have it, whether you're a serial sex offender or small-time escort, you'll feel a hell of a lot more confident.

Go for it.
