Bisexual would be off-putting if they had had sex with a guy...I can't explain it or justify it, but the thought of having sex with a man who'd had sex with another man makes me cringe. (bisexual but never had sex with another man = no issue).

    Smoking would make a relationship a non-starter.

Serious socialist would probably cause problems as well - our principle would most likely be incompatable.

Really any profession that might get them killed.

What's with all the Biphobia from girls? How come homophobia is unacceptable these days, but its perfectly fine to discriminate against bisexual people; mostly bisexual guys.

    Explain please...

55% of people would dump their partner if they were a member of the BNP. Interesting stuff. I voted put off.

Whilst I'm far, far more likely to fall for a leftie liberal, a Tory girl would be very interesting. Lots of fun debate and opposites can attract. Although I see your point. A UKIP girl would be slightly off putting. They'd probably have to be a Cameroon lol.

It's not like discrimination in the workplace or giving them fewer civil rights...the dynamics of a personal relationship are different.

It's not unreasonable for someone to be put off by a person's sexual history - even if it's not logical. It just means you're not compatable

Yep...so if you marry her and she wants private health/dental cover for herself and the children as well as sending the children to private school - that 'debate' would be a lot of fun :eek3:

Dump for no sex before marriage because it's just not practical in my opinion.
I dont think its practical either and in my book sex is part of a relationship
I'm sure many people manage it though but i couldnt

What about smoking? I think thats a pretty big one and you haven't put that on the poll!

I agree with whoever said smoking above ^ I absolutely hate smoking and just seeing someone do it makes me think 'eww' no matter how attractive they are.

In the poll I think the only one that would really put me off is being vegan - I looove meat and sat in a restaurant with my boyfriend chomping on a steak while he eats a salad or similar would just be too much of a role reversal for me :p:

I changed some of my opinions since i voted. Mostly because i am from America and didn't know what the BNP was (i would now choose dump).
other-smoking/drugs, heavy use of alcohol, socialist/communist (i love debates but a very large gap in political beliefs may ultimately take a toll on the relationship), being anti-Christian (i don't mind atheists, but those people who go out of their way to insult religion are irritating and hypocritical).

to all the people saying they wouldn't date someone in the military: =/

I think that the only thing on that list which would really make me consider whether or not I could have a relationship with someone would be a membership of the BNP. I just think that it is so different to where I am politically and morally that i would find it hard to be with them.

I wouldn't rule it out completely as there could be situations where it wouldn't lead to a break up. But I think that it would be very likely to.

I don't understand why anyone would be put off by/dump someone who had a poor background but was at uni?

BNP member- Put off. It depends on their views. There are a lot of BNP members with different views at the moment as necessarily benevolent has proven, some have the extremest, racist views, others interpret their policies in a different way and some just don't know what the hell the BNP is about and just voted for them for no apparent reason so they'd have to explain themselves a lot. It seems likely I'd dump them though, I have a lot of friends I don't want to be deported thanks.

If they come from a low income background and go to uni I wouldn't be put off because I come from a low income background and I'm going to uni. Instead I imagine I'd have a lot in common with them and I like motivated people a lot.

Poor and have a minimum wage job- I put that I'd be put off. I don't want to have to pay for everything when I'm in uni, and similarly, if I was to start a family with them, I wouldn't want to be the sole breadwinner. The poll infers that they've not really tried to get a better job so I wouldn't feel happy with that at all.

Bisexual- I'd be put off. If I fell in love with them I'd trust them, but then it's not my ideal thing in a man, sometimes they're more gay than straight and then I'd feel a bit scared there's more chance of them cheating on me, because the lust for a man may be quite strong if they met one who was similar to them.

Don't believe in sex before marriage- I'd be put off. I wouldn't find it realistic and I'd feel they'd be pulling me away if I got too close, it'd just be a big difference in views. I mean I'm a virgin, but when the relationship felt right I wouldn't want to have the pressure of marrying them before we could get closer. It also may be because they have big religious views and I'm not religious so being with them may put a lot of pressure on the relationship.

Vegan- I don't really believe in veganism, not that I think they're wrong, but I personally don't agree with some of the reasons, but also it'd make me scared they'd try and force some views on me, or they'd feel uncomfortable being with me when I ate meat or dairy.

But the poll doesn't say if they just voted for them, it actually says if they're a member.

Why? I would hate to fall in love with someone in the military because I know I'd be absolutely sick with worry everytime they went away. I'd hate for him to be away for long periods of time anyway, regardless of how dangerous it is. Also, if I didn't agree with the war they were fighting I can imagine that causing lots of problems. Obviously I know it's not a soldiers choice where they go, but the thought of him killing another human being would also make me feel sick.
