    Hi everyone,

I had my filter interview today and I’m pleased to say that I passed no major dramas! Curious to know now what the standard waiting time is to be called forward to Cranditz and the dreaded OASC,

“Has anyone recently passed their interview and been called forward to OASC?”

Unfortunately my interviewing officer was fairly ambiguous and non committal when it came dates and figures (“could be anything from 6 weeks to 6 months” ) so from what I’ve read from past posts I’m guessing around 3 moths is a pretty ‘average’ time frame!? Anyone have any current, or perhaps more accurate information? Would be much appreciated.

    Thank you for reading.

    Hi,

Congratulations on passing. Thanks for the input, 3 to 4 months does seem to be a pretty standard wait then!?

Good luck with your app, hopefully you’ll hear something soon.

3-4 months shouldn't be too bad, get a part-time job, get on some station visits, keep getting fitter plus there's the holidays to break up the wait.

I was called today about the possibility of 2 missions i can attend in the coming weeks aswell as visits to two other stations.

But yes, it seems that currently the waiting time is longer then previously since there are less jobs and more applicants than there has been in the past.

Looking at the OASC date thread on this very forum, people are already being called up for dates in February, so if you've recently passed filter expect your attendance date to be around then.

I passed my filter on August 3rd, heading to RAFC on December 15th. Managed to snag a pre-xmas date!

Hi and thanks for the reply Sam-J-J,

From what I’ve gleaned so far 3-4 months is looking to be a fairly average time span, here’s hoping for February or sooner!!

Slick drills on getting a pre Christmas date, good luck to you!

    Hi all,

I'm 36 and living in New Zealand. I previously did 10 years in the RAF as an Air Traffic control/Flight Ops assistant (TG9). I applied for SNCO Direct Entry Air Traffic Controller back in March and after emails and letter further up the chain I received a security waiver (as one has to reside in UK for 5 years immediately prior to application) and also an age waiver for ATC as the cut off is 36 and ill be 37 in Jan.
I had my filter interview in wellington on October 6th and last week I got an OASC date of Feb 2nd.:woo: I have since changed it to March 16th to fit in with flights and family commitments here in NZ.

Paying NZ$2500 for my return flight will certainly focus my mind for OASC - I know its a gamble but its a career I want to grasp.

So ...its looks like 4 months is the average time at the moment from Filter to OASC......
