chewing gums isn't that great cause 100% u f*ck up ur stomach, eaten by the juices and stuff...
Gum is made of chicle or polyisobutylene. The latter is a synthetic rubber, and the former is a natural latex. There is absolutely no danger in swallowing chewing gum. If you're a chronic swallower, then there may be danger of the gum sticking to other food particles and building up into a large mass.

    It's a wive's tale.

Chewing chewing gum activates the saliva glands and can make bad breath worse.

As well as brushing and flossing, make sure to use mouth wash and brush your tongue! Most bacteria in the mouth is carried on the tongue. (Thinking about THAT next time you start frenching! Oh yes!)

Also- BlanX toothpaste is BRILLIANT. I have yellowy teeth (I blame my genetics) but this stuff works a treat. It varies in strengths and kinds. If you have very yellow teeth, I would use the one designed for smokers.

Could be a sign of gum disease. Improve your oral hygiene, try brushing your tongue in a morning too. Your tongue harbors a lot of bacteria that can cause bad breath.
Exactly this. Brushing your teeth doesn't actually make it better. Scrape your tongue with a tongue scraper as it's the white stuff on your tongue that makes your breath smell. After that use Listerine. If it still doesn't improve then you've probably got something wrong with your gums.

i mean that the gum lies to ur stomach that there actually IS food there and therefore the gastric juices do their job...
