There are so many departments to get into in IB, but which is ideal in terms of:

    - Long term salary + bonus (e.g. after 5-7 years)
    - Offers good exit options
    - Hours that are not KILLER (I know at analyst and probably even associate level, hours in all sectors are pretty KILLER but hey might aswell ask if there is anything)

    ?

    Any help greatly appreciated

Average banker > Average trader ... Good trader > Good banker (usually.. for salary)
IBD has the slightly better exit opps imo
    S+T for better hours...

How many hours do S&T usually work at analyst and associate level?

Also, what do you mean it doesn't really hold anymore?

Any idea average salaries for those in S&T as analysts and associates vs. those in IBD as analysts and associates for 08/09 period? Perhaps a link?

Ah, I stand corrected in that case.

Now perhaps you should stop getting your knickers so wet about salary, and actually find out what you'll enjoy doing, as you'll be well compensated in either if you're good so all this salary talk is pointless.
    This.
