Our leavers song seems to be

"Ive had the time of my life, and Ive never felt this way before yes i swear, its the truth, and i owe it all to you..."

God knows what its called but makes me really sad. had it at our year 11 leavers and its our song this year as well.

Well Good Riddance (called Time of your life by the minions...) by Greenday always goes down well

And if you can cope with the cheese factor then Faith Hill - There you'll be (the pearl harbour song) is of a similar clan to Shania Twain - Still the one

good riddance is def a goood choice.. dead sad though! will get everyone weeping:P
Hmmm...I'm a massive Feeder fan so 'Yesterday Went Too Soon' always does it for me if you know the song but then again some people may not- I'm not so great at the cheese factor!
Aaw but don't make your Ball too sad!

Summer of 69.

"You told me it would last forever
Oh the way you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life"

Aww.

And I'll get ripped apart for even suggesting it, but Not Alone is a fantastic song.

i dont wana make it too sad, but we have 'dont stop me now' as OUR song, I just think we need something a bit sentimental.
One big bit of advice if your trying to make the music a big part of the evening is to find a group of students willing to be in charge of it.

We gave the DJ at our prom a very rigid playlist, but he still managed to mess around with it. They feel they should be doing more than just putting a song on and then getting the next one ready.

If possible see if the venue will set up a computer for you, if they will its simply a case of queueing up the songs. You can even cut out the gap between songs by haveing the last 2 seconds of each song overlap, it's barely noticeable and stops awkward silences between songs.

Im not sure what the deal is with DJs and stuff but thanks for the tips! were writing an extensive list so hopefully theyl al get played!
Another good idea like someone said earlier is to play loads of songs from the year you started at the school, or from the time of a big trip the whole year was on.

At ours we had five or six songs from Pure Garage II because nearly everyone had it when we went on a holiday to Torquay. Everyones biggest memory of that holiday is about 8 rooms synchronising together and blasting out Azzido Da Bass at full volume.

Made some fit Italian women very angry if my memory serves correctly.
