Ok, watch the video before reading on.

If you can't see the video, check the spoiler:
    Spoiler:
    Show

It's a striptease featuring a girl, she removes clothes and does what someone would normally do when stripping.
She then gets attacked by a fisherman and her guts are removed while still conscious.

At the end the following message is shown:

    Stripping alive is not okay!
But every day thousands of fish are stripped of their internal organs. Alive and conscious.
    Wake up!
    www.wakkerdier.nl

(Wakker Dier is a Dutch non-profit organization for animal protection and abolishing the bio-industry.)
This seems as though this is a Dutch version of the PETA adverts ('Rather go naked than wear fur') but with fish.

What do you think about fish being gutted while being alive?
Do you think organisations should be using such adverts to promote topics like this?

I don't think that there is a viable way to make the fish unconscious beforehand and the pain is momentary.

I'll still be eating fish :yep:

    Discuss.

I'm not sure why they'd want to immitate PETA. Clearly Wakker Dier hasn't realised just how unpopular this kind of this is with the public at large.

I'm pretty sure fish have nerves and can feel pain, but I think it's more cruel to wait until the fish suffocates before gutting.
Beheading is the best death I would say for a fish.

    FFS It's only a fish!

It's not very nice, but it is only a fish.

And I do disagree with fishing, it's completely pointless.

Well it managed to get the attention of a bunch of bored foreign students on a messageboard, so it must be working.

    i would

i was really enjoying that video up until the fisher showed up.

Righ ok that video is utterly foul and disgusting - i mean in the modern 21st century to have something like that going on, its ludicrous someone please think of the children

    THE MAN WAS SMOKING

doesnt he realise what hes doing to himself? the health risks? the problems associated with it? oh yeah sure hes working in the great outdoors all that healthy fresh air but come one what kind of message does this send to kids? yes its cool to disembowel an attractive woman with a cigarette in your mouth.

No it is not - dont smoke full stop, its not cool kids chew gum whilst your disemboweling, much ehalthier and give you fresh breath

also bansheeee* our resident PETA whack job is going to love this

They show us this as if there is something we can do about it. I think it is them that need to wake up a bit.
