Just wondering if anyone knows of any decent new hip hop/rap artists? My music collection needs beefing up!

P.S. Please don't say Asher Roth, I don't like him that much lol.

I bet there's tones of old school rappers you've never even heard of who are without a shadow of a doubt 1,000,000 times better than the "rappers" out today.

Big L(greatest freestyler I've ever heard) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBrzEVJwYFg and freestyle

I've heard of about 3/4 of those rappers lol but I know what you mean. Old school 90's rap was where it was at, might go for a bit of the classic shiz

    Who hadn't you heard of?

And yeah, don't waste your time with today's crap, it's not legit nor is there any soul. I haven't heard any raw artists at all in the present day, its a shame really, they're killing their own generation.

    drake is a r&b artist
CH has nice priduction and id ok

If you want beats and music go for CH, and maybe drake.

If you want hip lyricism and hip hop go for BLU BLU BLU BLU , wale, mickey factz

B.O.B is good too, get his mixtape and wlaes. (b.o.b vs bobby ray and back to the feature respectively)

and get below the heavens - blu and exile. if you dont like it,listen to it till you do. if its a lost cause, you dont like hip hop

Rakim, Krs One & Lord Finesse, might check them out.

And yeah, a lot of them lack the passion of great rappers such as Biggie and 2Pac, heck even 50 cent hasn't released a really good song in ages! Charles Hamilton isn't too bad but his obsession with Sonic is a bit weird lol.

Rakim and Eric B were THE rap group duo, I'm sure you've heard their ****, just look them up.

Lord Finesse was a huge influence on Big L's style.

KRS One is just staight beast, this guy single handedly brought the BX back into the picture back when the spotlight was on BK, a lyrical mastermind and by far one of my top5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VRZq3J0uz4

    Give Big L a listen

i agree blu is defiantly sick but he will never get the recognition he deserves becuase he isnt commercial, its a shame really that talentless rappers like soulja boy are richer and more famous than talented rappers. o well
