Dad on facebook - HELP!!! Watch

OK, basically I just got a friend request on facebook from my DAD :lolwut:

I live far away from home, in a different country, and I pop in home like 2-3 times a year. I'm not too sure whether I should accept it or not, I mean, I wouldn't feel comfortable knowing my dad has access to my wall, my posts, my pics and so on

But at the same time I know he's gonna feel hurt if I will reject his request... I don't know, he found me through our Shared Friends and now I've been put in an awkward situation - what would you do?

Ignore it... you never saw the request.

If he asks you just say how you don't check your requests that often and always miss loads. Then add him and put him as limited friend. :yep:

Accept him and then limit his access to your profile.

How can I do this? Can I change settings for every particular user? How do I do this? Thanks

Settings > Privacy > Profile. Adjust the settings so that he can't see your tagged photos/wall posts etc. but is still listed as one of your friends and can access (an albeit limited version of) your profile

add him to a limited profile list, then you might need to rejig the settings so that limiteds can't see what you want hidden

You could, alternatively, live the life of a celibate tee total angel. Just an idea.

I was in the same position a while ago... absolute nightmare situation, I feel your pain. I realised though that, at the end of the day, he was young once too, and should really know what to expect from a teenager today. Unless there's anything really bad, I'd just accept him - I really doubt he's going to spend all his time flicking through your photos and facebook stalking you anyway. Or if you don't want to restrict his access, maybe just send him a message asking him to respect your privacy? There are some things that parents should never see - I think generally both parents and children accept that.

My dad added me. I accepted him, then wrote on his wall "Daddy I love you but it's not happening. xx" and deleted him.
