BBC NEWS | Asia-Pacific | Fatal blasts hit Jakarta hotels

The Federal Republic of Austria would like to condemn the recent terrorist attacks in Jakarta, Indonesia. We see these acts as a destabilisation to the region.

No act of terror can be justified and we hope those responsible will feel the full force of the legal system.

Austria would also like to call all members to join us in calling for an irradication of all terrorist cells in the region.

We also pass our condolences to the family of the 9 people who were killed, one being a citizen of New Zealand.

Mexico would like to echo the words of Austria. We do not condone any form of terrorism and our thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives at this time.

I did think about that, but it was only really one sentence with the main "terrorism is bad" thing

Technically, this should be posted in Condolences, unless it actually offers a solution, preferably via a Resolution. If this can be done, it's fine, if not, I legally have to move it.

Sorry to point it out but just condemning it won't work - I have to move it if so.

The UNODC thinks that action needs to be taken against these criminals. The UNODC suggests a measure as such:

Sending UNODC officials to terrorism hot-spots to train police officers in special skills needed such as; intelligence gathering, the setting up of dedicated anti-terrorism officers, infiltration of terrorist organisations and dealing with the aftermath of terrorism to find, protect and preserve any forensic evidence.

My office hopes this proposal meets the GA's approval (and the SG's ) and is open to any questions, comments, parternships or proposals

Bolivia stands in solidarity with Indonesia, and strongly desire the restoration of stability to the area. We pledge our support for the action proposed by the UNODC, although we cannot offer any financial aid.
