    I already have a barbell and dumbells - was looking for some extra weights and wondered if i should get a bench/weights combo.


    Yes, i know its vinyl - but thats what i already have. :yes:

    No, to be honest. Even if you can't lift 40kg, then you will be able to in a very short amount of time.

    That money is much better going towards a gym. I don't mean to piss on your fire, but most of this home gym equipment sucks, the weights just aren't heavy enough. And if you're thinking about mastering that 40kg bench and then just doing higher reps, that'll do nothing for you.

    Quite simply, if you do what you've always done, then you'll get what you've always had. Which means you would have to move on to higher weights. Even if you were to buy additional weights for that bench then it would still be useless as that bar would most likely start to bend at 60kg.
    You would waste your money.
