What other blu ray(s) do you recommend? I've been looking at some but uncertain of what to get... I have the Dark Knight already. Great film!
I've not got that large a collection myself yet, but off the top of my head Casino Royale is another one that stands out.

    Well said that man!!

I really hope Sony bring back their trade in an old TV for a new one offer, these past couple of weeks at home with a very good 40" screen have been nice. I will miss it at uni

I saw Toy Story 3 3D earlier. Great film and well worth seeing. Orange wednesdays student tickets + orange wednesdays 2for1 pizza express for lunch = Bargin

Anyone on MW2 tomorrow? Will be on from about 10am, let me know and I will add you. Still no mic though
I wanted to go see Toy Story this morning (because of my shifts this week it's one of the few times I'm actually free), but the first showing at the cinema was 3.15, what the hell is with that? A 12 screen cinema, film that's been out only 2 days, and the showings start that late! Going to have to wait till the weekend now

I have that too, along with:

Rush Hour 1-3, Forgetting Sarah Marshall :sogood:, Mr & Mrs Smith, The Simpsons Movie, Top Gear: Polar Special, Ratatouille and Surf's Up.

    Thinking of getting:
    - Transformers 1 & 2
    - The Bourne Collection (HUKD says it's £16~ at the minute from Zavvi)

I've been considering getting transformers 1 & 2 too like. Avatar looks really good on blu ray.

Anybody else here get casino royale free for being in the first 100,000? to sign up to the PSN after the British launch?

Transformers 2 on Bluray is great!
If you get the Bourne Collection let me know if it's worth purchasing again for the HD, I have the DVD's but I am struggling to say no to HD Bourne

Caino Royale and Quantom of Solace are good on Bluray. As is:
    Inglorious *******s
    Dark Knight
    Transformers 2
    Iron Man
    Rush Hour 3
    Master and Commander
    Terminator 2
    Black Hawk Down
Fast and Furious is alright if you can find it cheap second hand, wouldn't pay more than £6 or £7 on it, not that good a film really.

I'm after some more to add to my collection too, any suggestions, preferably from CEX...

Forgetting Sarah Marshall isn't even that funny, only Russell Brand is funny in that film.

Get Avatar as said before, it looks amazing in HD.

    Thanks for the welcome all.

From first impressions about the PS3 I have to say I was wrong about the controller. I thought it would be horribly light from comparison with the 360 but when you start playing with it it just feels very natural (although I don't really get the sixaxis motion control stuff at the minute). I'm very pleased, because the controller was one of the things I was most worried about with the PS3.

:hi: You're starting off well there (though, do yourself a favour and get The Dark Knight on BluRay to go with it )
When I was looking I was surprised with the amount of comedies and older films on Blu Ray, because whenever I've watched HDTV I've found it almost impossible to differentiate between specs if it's not action. Is there really that much of an improvement for non-action films or is it just a desperate attempt to claw some more money from people? (not that TDK is a non-action film, of course :p:)

    Grats

Nice collection to. I love m=Mirror's edge...Bioshock is real good along with MGS4, FNR4, SSF4, Demon's souls to name a few.
I'm not sure about Mirror's Edge yet - it's a good concept, and when you string the moves together it's a great feeling, but it's so goddamn difficult to judge at times because it's first person.

    What's FNR and SSF?

    :hi:

:fyi: Fifa 11 is out at the beginning of October, LBP2 in November.
I only get a new FIFA game once about every 5 years. :p: They only seem to make a revolutionary one every few years, and the intermittent ones are just generally minor improvements I feel. Plus with FIFA 09 I can still have Martin Laursen in my team, and this makes me happy.

LBP2 looks wicked though (I am adoring LBP at the minute). The upcoming games I'm most excited about are GT5, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Fallout: New Vegas and Brink.

I wouldn't worry about Sixaxis, I've only ever used it once or twice.

Blu Ray is HDTV basically. That's probably why you're not seeing much difference. :p:

Fight Night Round 4, Super Street Fighter 4.

I honestly thought Fifa 10 was a big step up from Fifa 09. :yep:

Picked up any bronze/silver/gold/platinum trophies yet? :p:

Get a DS3 controller, they're heavier and it vibrates :teeth:

Btw if you've only got a SIXAXIS controller does that mean you've got one of the old model PS3's? Because they only sell DS3's with the new ones :holmes:

Yeah, DS3's have SIXAXIS built in, it has both of them written on top of the controller.

And don't worry about it, I just woke up :awesome:

Although we failed on the zombies front, especially me :sigh:

It seems to be a bit of a gimmick in the games I've played (rotating the head in LBP, allowing you to roll in Mirror's Edge).

Blu Ray is HDTV basically. That's probably why you're not seeing much difference. :p:
I know that. :p: I was talking about how I can't tell the difference between a HD TV channel and a regular TV channel if the programme was not very action-oriented (sports or action movies), so I don't really understand why there are so many comedy Blu Rays available.

I honestly thought Fifa 10 was a big step up from Fifa 09. :yep:
I've only played a couple of games on it, but I didn't notice that much difference. Certainly not at the same level as the gap between 08 and 09.

Picked up any bronze/silver/gold/platinum trophies yet? :p:
I have a smattering of bronzes for doing little things like completing levels and scoring a variety of goals, and I got a silver trophy in Mirror's Edge for somehow stringing together a long sequence of 5 or 6 different moves. :awesome:

one at the top window (the player with the waffle), one at the bottom window, two on the main door in to the building, simpole as that, use the power as and when, and every round you are guranteed a trip to the box because the persons on the windows can keep boarding the window up with a zombie behind it by just holding square. The two on the door need big machine guns / ray gun and place bettys in the room behind as a fall back, then when they bettys are gone, go to the stairs at the bottom, then the zombies dont all run down to the isolated man in the bit underground

rinse and repeat, we could have gone on fr hours when we got to 36 but everyone ran out of ammo (and someone timed out, that is VERY annoying about that gane)

trhere is also another way but i havent really tried it
