    Hi guys,

    I currently hold offers from:

University of Durham Business School - MSc in Economics and Finance

University of Bristol - MSc in Economics, Finance and Management

University of Lancaster - MSc in Ecomomics

Purely based on academic reputation and future career prospects inside as well as outside of UK. Which university would you choose?

    Thanks,
    Soeren

    Durham, then Bristol, then Lancaster.

Durham and Bristol have excellent reputations, and Lancaster also has a very good reputation, but not to the same extent as Durham and Bristol.

TBH, I'd always choose Durham over and of the other top 15 unis because the collegiate system really appeals to me.

How can you measure academic reputation? Durham and Bristol are two of the country's strongest universities, with greater "superficial" prestige if you like. But Lancaster's still a very good university indeed.

What's more, Lancaster has a business school that at least match Durham's postgrad programmes (and Lancaster is probably stronger than Bristol). The difference is even less significant with three well recognised names and it's arguably Lancaster who has the slight edge.

Take into account cost (of programme and living), location etc. It's hard to measure reputation and prospects. You can pick 30 random TSR members and won't find a general consensous. Especially when all three are excellent universities/business schools.

Thank you very much for the guidance!

I also have one open application at Warwick - MSc Finance and Economics. What are your thoughts about Warwick?? Maye it is a fraction better than Durham?

    Thanks,

Seriously talking I think Warwick is better in Finance..But between the other two you firstly mentioned I would say to accept Durham's offer.

All three are excellent schools and you can`t go wrong with any of them. Still, if I were to pick, it would be Durham, then Bristol, and then Lancaster.

About Warwick, I think it is a bit better than Durham for finance.
