    God I hate these...

fyi, "the unbearable lightness of being an intern" would have been a much better title.

It's so much more rewarding when you get actual responsibility and are trusted by your team to get on with work like everyone than being 'the intern'. It feels like some interns just want to play at being bankers, live the life etc, do 'projects' and live it up. They don't last long.

Don't read it, no-one asked you to.

Whether or not this thread is of use to anyone - OP still took the time and effort to post this, show some appreciation.

everyone who trades a lot uses text speak in london too. even those in slower markets seem to type in very short, precise sentences.

i'll be interested to find out more about what project you are set.

At least four times more baller.

The nature of being an intern is bloody dull - it's a learning process, and frankly very little in the way of "exciting" happens.

Opinions are far more valuable than a simple commentary.

Spent the day with the bond traders. TSR grammar nazis would be pretty furious if they knew traders in this EM country were trading on a Reuters platform using text speak such as
TB Conf ( to be confirmed)
GA ( can't remember what this means)
    SLD (sold)
    CFMD (confirmed)
    TKS (thanks)
to trade millions of dollars worth of securities.

I asked why they use “text” speak.

“Why the hell would I type out a full word when I could get the point across in three letters?”

QFTW, but I have a feeling this would never fly in London or NYC.
    Wrong.

No offence, but this is not an interesting blog up until now...

Good effort on the writeup. I'm sure some people will find it interesting even if some of you don't.

Enjoy yourself man. I'm sure you'll find more interesting/exciting stuff to write about as the weeks go on.

note: Everyone, from the junior analysts, to the department head, casted a vote. I was also forced to vote even though I mentioned having no knowledge of how the banks operated there.
Lol great image  , you sure the people didnt just want her out of there....

But this is good stuff, you got me thinking into writing a PE intern one :p:
