Hellooo. I'd like to dye my hair before I go to university. I'm not looking for anything extreme (I don't want to dye my entire hair green or something). Essentially I'm looking to put a colour in my hair, but I don't know what sort of style or pattern to put it in, as i've never done it before. I'm thinking electric blue or a red, as my hair is naturally black.

    Anybody got any suggestions?

Put blue in on the underneath bit of your fringe

If you really want to put a colour in there, I'd put it thru your fringe and since you have black hair you can get away with most colours. :P

I think I'm a little bit in love with your hair.

Scratch that. I'm a lot in love with your hair. It's so... so glossy.

I would suggest leaving it as it is, but personally, if you're determined, I'd go for the electric blue. It's a pain to maintain, though, and you will learn to detest the smell of bleach. I only go through with it because blue feels like my natural colour, for now. I'm putting in streaks just as soon as my friend's cut it again- hair foils have been acquired for maximum neatness. : ) Or you could really go for it and have an electric blue leopard print. Mmm.

I'm really tempted to comment on your hair-cut but I shall refrain from doing so. I think that if you dye your hair in an unnatural colour you'll appear as if you haven't outgrown a certain phase in your life. And this might impact how seriously you are taken by others. Just what I would think if I saw a 22 year old with blue streaks in his hair. Try brown?

some gold/blonde/yellow highlights would be great, or perhaps just the fringe dyed blonde.
Could I ask, would hair product do you use? it makes your hair really shiny and holds good

Coloured streaks under the fringe as Georgia suggested - maybe a cool blonde or blue would look really lovely.
Definitely not too OTT and really soft looking at the same time as being there quite obviously.

i'm seriously restraining myself from commenting on how emo you appear.
but anyway, leave your hair colour alone - it's lovely! i'd get rid of the HUGE fringe though so we can actually vaguely see your face.
