With me being away for all of August I'm having to do a lot of running around to sort out what I'll be taking to uni, etc. I'm not entirely sure what sort of furniture I'll need to take with me (if any!) so I'd appreciate it if people could possibly list the furniture that the uni provides for you (or take pictures, even better!) and let me know if I need to grab anything from IKEA.

Also, specifically the desk, I could really use the dimensions if anyone is able to measure them or has a picture so that I can see how big they are. I'll be taking my beast of a PC with a large-ish monitor and two cabinet speakers, plus a seperate PC with it's own monitor and my laptop, so I need to know if there's enough space to fit most of that on there without having to resort to the floor / top of my chest of drawers or whatever.

    Cheers!

I was living in en suite rooms in eccleshall in stafford court. on the desk you could easily fit multiple monitors and pc's.

I think my desk was able to have these items; 19" monitor, 17" monitor, pc, 360, ps3 and with slight moving of stuff a 17" tv :woo: , alarm clock and all in a row.

Tho other ensuite rooms had a smaller desks. make sure you get a corner room.....they rock

Dom on here showed me his desk (pretty sure he had a corner room) and it was huuuuge, it must've been like 3 meters long!

My other mate (was in Brocton, middle room) had a smaller desk, but he still managed to fit a 19" TV / 19" monitor / Wii / other random stuff on there. If you take a look at Vics video in Fraz's post, it was about that big so probably the same in most of them!

Count yourself lucky if you get a corner room. Huge rooms, huge desks!

I think I might take a mini-fridge with me, too. I just went through all the agreement/regulation documents and it didn't say anything about not being able to own or operate one in halls. It did say no deep fat fryers, though. Damn.

Oh, also, just for laughs.. It's against regulations to look at any sort of pornography while using ResNet or anything construed as 'racist' or 'offensive'.. Although if you're good you are permitted to request your pornography for 'research purposes' providing it is done through the appropriate channels.
