How much weight can a barbell hold? Watch

    Its a pretty cheap one, its 6', 1" circumfrance, Got it from Argos,

    Cant really think of any other info i have on it that would help.


    How much will it hold without starting to bend?


    Thanks, i appreciate that this might be hard to answer without more info/vary depending on luck.

    Don't know, although probably not much. How much it can hold depends on it's tensile strength, which I imagine wouldn't be much because it's a cheap barbell from Argos and as such isn't likely to be used for lifting heavy weights.

    It doesn't really matter if the barbell starts to bend though. As long as it doesn't go beyond its yield strength and deform plastically (i.e. bend so much that it doesn't flex back straight again) then it'll be fine.
