In terms of interior and exterior.

This isn't solely a 'x is better than y' thread, as I think most of the buildings which will be posted are all beautiful in their own right, and have certain features which outdo all others. So, you should post what you consider to be the most beautiful palace.

    Post pictures to match!

I'll start with one of the more obvious ones:

    Buckingham Palace

Buckingham palace doesn't strike me as exactly pretty. It looks nice with the water in one of the pictures though.

Buckingham Palace has never looked so good as it does in those pictures. Truly fantastic, those pictures are genuinely awe-inspiring!

I'd like to contribute the Sikh Golden Temple in Amritsar, India, it is no longer royal or presidential but it was established by royal noblemen of the time back in the 1500s. The fact that the outside is made of gold adds to the grand effect!

Even though no longer a royal residence or classically beautiful, I think The Royal Pavilion at Brighton is very interesting nonetheless.

Versailles without a doubt. The largest and grandest palace there is. Every surface and space in it was laboured over so much so that it would be the most spectacular and perfect palace ever - and in my opinion Louis XIV succeeded.

If royal tombs count, then the Taj Mahal has gotta be up there

The golden temple does look pretty cool. Especially at night time. Everything outside the main walls is pretty crappy though...

Winter Palace in Leningrad. Buckingham is pretty bland to be honest.

I don't know how you can call that 'bland'. The outside may not be spectacular, but if you take into consideration some of its features and the interior rooms (which were not all shown) I think it's far from 'bland'.

Buckingham palace is pretty bland from the outside. summer palace, pushkino, russia definitely tops it from an exterior point of view. But definitely not in it's interior.
