What i want to know is... when can i/should i apply for student finance? I have a conditional offer from a uni, do i have to wait until i receive a unconditional offer before i apply for finance? Or do i start applying now? :woo: I only received my offer on saturday btw as i was a late applicant!

You should have applied by the end of june.

You need to apply ASAP and hope if gets done in time. You're really quite late with this - didn't anyone from your school/sixth form warn you about it?

Apply now, definitely. The deadline was something like June 23rd (though they are very backed up, so it'd just get added to the end of the queue) to get it for the start of University; so I'd get it in as soon as possible if I were you.

When people talk about the deadline by the way, they mean the deadline for them to guarantee you to get finance before the start of term.

As you're a late applicant obviously this wouldn't have been possible.

The actual deadline for you to receive any finance is up to nine months after you start the course. The sooner you apply, the sooner you'll get the money though (of course).

its better to get it done sooner rather than later, because there's a lot of twoing and throwing with the application because they want a lot of information and it's pretty hard to change details especially when the lines are backed up from 8m till late.
