I don't understand why I got rejected for a student bank account with HSBC, I have been banking with them for over ten years and applied online to change my account to a student account and I got a letter saying my credit scoring was too low. All I have is a phone contract for out payments. I didn't have a job when I applied but I do now, so if I wait for a couple of pay checks should I reapply. Also, I didn't think any student would get rejected for a bank account if they are going to uni?

    Please explain and advise!!!!

As above, you should have more success with another bank - I'm surprised to hear this. However, if you're keen to stay with HSBC, it might be worth paying a visit to your local branch and seeing if they can do anything to help.
