Right I've decided that I'll get a load of new games that I haven't played yet for when I get my new laptop. I'm mostly interested in FPS, RPG and RTS games.

    FPS: Crysis, Half Life 2
RPG: Titan Quest (is this any good?)
RTS: Battle for Middle Earth 2

Black and White 2, it's awesome.
Slightly older games like Age of Empires/Mythology.
Bloodrayne is oldish but still really good.

    *thinks of more*...

Edit: Oh and Oblivion!, the Elder Scrolls series is great.

RPG/FPS - It'd be a shame not to give Oblivion (+mods) a go as well as Fallout 3

If you haven't played X3, then I strongly recommend it as no modern space games come close to it's depth and the Terran Conflict edition brings it up to date nicely. However it's neither a FPS, RPG or RTS

Finally, If you haven't played Baldur's Gate II yet, then that's a must. It may be a decade old but it's still more playable than most of today's games and one of the best games I've ever played. (RPG)

Right, i'll just list a few which i think are the best in their categories:

    RPG:

Diablo 2; brilliant hack & slash RPG which really made Blizzard Entertainment shine, would work well if you have one of those touchpad laptops, seeing as it doesn't require much apart from the mouse.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic; The story, locations and characters make this game thrive and the customisation of your character is brilliant.

Oblivion; You could LIVE in this game. That's all i need to say.

Black and White 2, it's awesome.
    ^ This aswell.

    RTS:

Men of War; World War 2 RTS with depth, similar to Commandos.

Empire: Total War; turn based RTS which sees you dominating the world, as strategic as you could get.

Obviously you'd have to google them if you want more information.

I've got Oblivion on my PS3, and I hated Assassin's Creed. I'll try out Age of Mythology and Baldur's Gate 2.

FPS: Counter Strike 1.5/1.6/Source (favourite FPS's), Quake & Unreal Tournament are great too though.

RPG: Diablo 2 (Titan Quest is pretty much a copy of this but D2 is funner).

RTS: Warcraft III, Starcraft. There really isn't a need for others.

Anyway i played Titan Quest and i personally didn't enjoy it, i like a game to be much more fast paced, but if you don't mind it being slow then i recommend it along with Baldurs Gate 2.

Make sure if you get Counter Strike, to have a good headset and mouse, trust me.

FPS: Half Life 2 (and orange box). Which would include my next suggestion - Counter Strike Source. If Mafia is an FPS then Mafia. Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Red Orchestra, Unreal Tournement 2004 is cheap and brilliant.

FPS/RPG: Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, Deus Ex, Oblivion (or even better Morrowind)

RPG: Neverwinter Nights (First>Second). All the classics are generally best: Diablo 2, Baulder's Gate 2, Icewind Dale etc.

RTS: Company of Heroes, Warhammer: Dawn of War, Medieval 2: Total War (only one I havent played is Empire). Warcraft 3

    ummmmmmmmmmmm

    Go for the classics.

Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, Duke Nukem for FPS games.

    Commander and Conquer for RTS!

    Can't beat 'em. :proud:

Don't bother buying Crysis for a laptop - unless you have a seriously powerful laptop it will be too demanding... Definitely buy Half life 2
Try left 4 dead if you dont have it already

    Planescape:Torment (RPG)
    Fallout 1 + 2 (RPG)
    System Shock 1 + 2 (RPG / FPS)
    Deus Ex (RPG / FPS)
    Painkiller (FPS)
Unreal 1 and Unreal Tournament (FPS)
    Starcraft (RTS)
    Homeworld 1 + 2 (RTS)
    Diablo 1 + 2 (Action RPG)

Here you go, some quality pc games that haven't been mentioned which should run easily on most systems. Also, Oblivion is awful, don't waste your time OP.
