Okay, I'm 18 and black... I naturally have a soft, fluffy afro that becomes quite defined and uberly curly when wet (but dries and looks sickly)...
and I've recently experimented, dying my afro a bright blonde, having it straightened, permed etc, growing a fringe
and now when i'm out with myblack friends, everyone just stares and laughs at me?!? so what if i read the guardian, so what if i have blonde, straightened hair, so what if i like indie music and wear skinny jeaaans?! how does that make me 'not black' and 'a disgrace to our race'?!, so what if i'm gay?!
it infuriates me!!
Short of cosmetic surgery (Jackson anyone?) you'll be black no matter what you do.
I swear i just saw this thread.
