    When you apply through UCAS to the universities, if any of them reject you can you still apply through clearing to those that rejected you, or is it a final thing? i.e. cant go through clearing to them.

    you are only eligible for clearing if you hold no offers on results day.

    you can then apply for all clearning places- so normally you cant apply for the place that rejected you because a lot of top uin's dont use clearing.

    So if i was to miss my grades i could still go through clearing to one of the unis i applied for to see if theyd take me (assuming they have clearing places)?

    You can try. A friend was contacted by Oxford after getting his A-level grades (4 As) - "We have a place for you if you'd like to apply through clearing". However, in the end he decided against going to Oxford.

    Had he been previously rejected by Oxford or did they just approach him after he got his results??
