I'm not sure why there is this assumption that posting on an internet forum in your spare time instead of watching tv/playing games consoles/doing whatever it is other people do in their spare time is such a problem?

IDK. Habit, I guess. I enjoy helping others, which is generally what I spend most of my time on here doing.

Over the year or so I've had it, erm... a mixture of doing uni research, being depressed, sad, BORED, procrastinating from things I should actually be doing, feeling lonely... probably about it. Also, sometimes just one person's amusing post can cheer me up when I'm having a bad day so meh.

    Edit:

I came on here to cheat on an exam. I don't come on here much though, hence the low post count.

I was on here initially because I wanted to find out about my university choices/course and that kind of thing.
Then I ventured into other forums, saw people were asking questions I could answer and it went from there really.

Its something to do when you've got some time going spare and not much else to do.
Besides, its nice when you can actually help someone with something
    Exactly that.

Well, surely not everyone with >1000 posts only comes on here to give their advice to people and so on. Some people, I'm sure, took a few years to get so many posts.
