When we're studying at UoM, where is the nearest GP to go to if we become ill? Which would probably be the case when swine flu breaks out in the autumn/winter.

    thanks!

There are tons across the city, and obviously depending on which campus you're halls are in, the GPs will be different.
However, in my case, when I had gone to collect my keys there was a representative from the nearest GP who was there if we wanted to sign up etc. I cannot guarantee that this happens for every halls, but it might do.

Your local GP will depend on which halls you are living in, rather than the nearest one to the University campus. There should be someone from your local GP's office at your halls during moving in weekend, and probably sporadically throughout freshers week.

Also, you shouldn't be going into your GP's office if you suspect you have swine flu - it's contagious. You have to ring them up.

    Are you serious? ;/
Manchester has one of the biggest campuses, and there are hundreds of GPs.

    Oh jeez.

Anyway, when you move into halls you will get a welcome pack with loads of info in it, including contact details for local GP and maybe dentists.
