The Co-operative Party are arguing that failed banks, such as Northern Rock, should be put back into the hands of their customers as they once were when building societies.

This is the best way to deal with Northern Rock, which otherwise would be sold to a majority shareholder with little or no concern for customers or the local community.

What do you guys think about re-mutualising the failed banks? Is this the best option for how to deal with them?
