    Well, do you? :hmmm:

I can't be bothered to read through all 5+ pages before replying. If I reply without reading all the previous posts, I usually get a load of replies along the lines of "somebody already said that you idiot"!

I don't really put that much thought into my replies. If a thread interests me I reply.

It depends on the topic. If it's a stupid question and there are like a hundred people giving the same answer, I don't reply. If it interests me, I'll read through. Lots of pages does put me off though, unless it's an epic thread of 700+, in which case you generally don't have to read everyone else's to reply.

if it's really interesting, i'll read all the pages.
if it's mildly interesting, i'll skim over it to make sure nobody has said what i want to say.
if it's not interesting, i'll duck it off.

If it's too long, I just read the OP and reply.

Which usually doesn't end well :P

Yeah skimming posts seems to be the way to go.

Maybe set TSR to show more messages per page?

No, I usually don't bother, for the reasons you stated.

Well, i don't bother replying, but i read them in a stupid way.

I tend to read pages 1 and 2, then get bored, so jump the the last page, but then start reading the pages backwards to try and catch up with what people are saying :dontknow:

Its a stupid way to read through threads, i wouldn't recommend it.

Yeah, I end up doing that too lol. I start to see how the discussion developed though through people's quotes of earlier messages. All becomes a bit too confusing though.

I don't bother if a thread's more than a few pages long, because I can't be bothered to read through everything.
If it's a very controversial topic, I might be drawn in, but that's rare. The key for me is to get in when the thread's a page or two long, and go with the conversation.

If it's something that really interests me then sadly I'll read the whole thread even if it's 40 (probably not) pages long which is why I always try to read threads from the time they are made so I don't have to read that many pages.
