I didn't have work experience and still got into good unis. All I said on mine is that I debated a lot and attended the school's question time. if you can you can try that route. Just try and nail your PS and you should be fine.

It's more about the books you've reading and how you relate that to our modern world. You're interests and passion for the subject etc.

PM me if you'd like any advice on it

Have you thought about joining any campaigning organisations? Politics isnt just about parliament, infact id say that plays a very small part of politics, and is more legislative studies than politics. (my uni -Hull- does a politics and legislative studies course)

Join a campaign organisation like war on want, or palestinian solidarity, unite against facism etc etc...

Those are just examples, I dont know any campaign groups from the other side of the political spectrum....
For the love of god OP, please don't join the SWP or UAF.

Who is your MP? Try emailing them as well.

I wouldnt advise anyone to join the swp, but UAF isnt just run by the swp, they have lib dems, and even tory members...

My MP replies to my emails within 3 hours usually. Actually, I get 2 emails normally, one from his assistant and then one from him personally.
