'Romeo and Juliet', by Dire Straits.

Douglas Adams agrees with me, it must be right.

Have you heard the killers version of that?

He can only hold her - Amy Winehous

Beats all of the sentimental rubbish out there. The live acoustic versions are better, though.

    Hallelujah
I fail to see how that song is romantic. To me it's about lost love, heartbreak, lack of trust. "Love is not a victory march, it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah" "I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you, and even though it all went wrong..." (if we're looking at Leonard Cohen version for that last bit). I guess everyone interprets things differently eh?

Anyways, in answer, I would say, We All Fall In Love Sometimes, Elton John (although I'm listen to the Jeff Buckley cover). Although there are probably far more romantic songs but it's the one that has most recently touched me like THAT. Oh, or The Way Young Lover's Do by Van Morisson. OR Time Has Told Me by Nick Drake. Okay, I'm done (for now).

I was doing more thinking on this subject and I can't believe I forgot Your Song - Elton John, that song just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I want Northern Sky by Nick Drake at my wedding, it's romantic in a very quiet, non-obvious/sickening way

In a similar way, The Everthere by Elbow

I'd also have to say Thunder Road by Springsteen, particularly for the line 'you ain't a beauty but hey you're alright, and that's alright with me'.

I know that most people would think that's not romantic, but I love it. To me, it means he doesn't care that she isn't beautiful or stunning, he still loves her whatever.
