Utopian! You can't programme a free-thinking being not to harm. Look at humans.
    But they're not free thinking.:indiff:

Wagamama is not a bad restaurant, but the dishes available have clearly been "westernised" in some form or another. The only genuine dish I came across was the Yakisoba, which was pretty similar to what you'd find in Japan, or at least, from my own experience. Shame that they don't seem to employ Japanese staff, though. Not so much the waiters, but the chefs. It would be nice. Price-wise, I don't find it that expensive, but I'm not really one to talk, given the places I dine at from time to time. :o:

It appears that the raw for this week's Haruhi is out - are we ready with our pitchforks in case they decide not to end it this week everyone?

Utopian! You can't programme a free-thinking being not to harm. Look at humans.
But the type of robots we're talking about don't really think. They have different processes to biological organisms. As long as we don't program them to kill, they won't on purpose. True, it goes to a different level when we make what are effectively human brains trapped in senseless robot bodies.
But if we're talking about obedient AI, then that will not happen. They will have no motivation to rebel against humans as long as they are programmed to be obedient to their owners whilst following limiters.

It isn't utopian, it's what will be reality. Robots designed to serve humans will only think about how best to carry out their objectives.

I'm stalling it for the moment. I'll wait for the whole thing to finish and then download it in batch form.

I've gone well past rage into 'meh' territory concerning Haruhi

I haven't read the discussion regarding AI properly, but I'll just say that every time I think of robots, I think of this:

Ooo! You're talking about a utopia with engineered robots alongside humans?

Artificial Intelligence will only go so far. Intelligence itself is the freedom to think for itself - this will undoubtedly force it to exceed it's limitations. I-Robot.
