Anime is associated with Pokemon, because that was the first series to truly go mainstream in the west. Though people who are older than that tend to associate it with Urotsukidoji and Manga Entertainment's early releases. Both are stereotypes that will take some time to get rid of. :sadnod:

I'm not totally sure how to deal with awkward people who take fun out of what I like.

Manga Entertainment are amazing. They brought us classics like that dub of Magic Knight Rayearth OVA and we'd have never seen such a great show as Angel Cop had they not brought it over here.

Amazon has a sale on box sets at the moment, which for once seems to include anime box sets as well! Their choice of image was unfortunate though...

I don't have that sort of money available to me at the moment, but I'll still have a look because I've no idea what's out there in terms of box sets anymore.

I dont know anyone IRL (outside my immediate family) who shares my otaku tendancies  Not that I really broadcast it anyway, its more of a private obsession......however for some reason my HP & LOTR obsessions are well known and accepted :dontknow:

Manga Entertainment :awesome: - I have that Magic Knight Rayearth OVA dub DVD.......it is truly terrible :afraid: I subscribe to Manga Force so I get 2 DVDs a month from Manga Entertainment.....the last few series I finished collecting from them were Noein, Tactics, Tokko and Saikano :yep:

Also got Akira, the GitS movies, Blood: The Last Vampire, Macross Plus, End of Evangelion, Urotsukidoji 1 &2 (although I havent watched those :p:), Millenium Actress and the Casshan 70s OVA :awesome:.......plus a heap of others that I can't remember :giggle:

Why am I only just watching this great anime?! I think the 'metal' in the title put me off.
What's the deal with Brotherhood? Is it supposed to be any good? I might watch it when I've finished FMA... 9 episodes to go! :woo:
lol yeah, my sister was the one who forced me to watch it as i was so convinced the first episode was so boring! but then i got into it you are still watching the first series? its really good, so i hope u enjoy the rest of it (but you might want to watch the movie afterwards as its like a sequal to the first series)

Brotherhhood is just a different version that is exactly like the manga so is longer i think, and its just coming out so i'm watching it (up to ep 16 at the mo!) and some bits are similar but the different ideas take time getting used to, but its just as funny! except the one o'm watching is Japanese with English subtitles as i can't find an english one, but its still GREAT

    Hope you enjoy

Since Brotherhood is only just airing in Japan there is no dub available......although since FUNimation hold the license already I imagine its only a matter of time. Wouldnt expect it before it finishes its Japanese run though :nah:

The Brotherhood series is meant to run for 4 seasons - so thats roughly 50 episodes; similar to the original anime.

EDIT: BTW I have a thread set up specifically for anything FMA related (although its mostly taken up with discussing Brotherhood at the moment :p:) http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=957825

and the Casshan 70s OVA :awesome:
You mean the 90s OVA Casshan: Robot Hunter, right? Only I've been trying to find the 70's TV series for ages and it's neither subbed or licensed to my knowledge. Don't know of any 70s OVA either...
