I have Thursday off all this semester.

What time is your earliest lecture? Tomorrow morning is the worst for me :P
I don't have lectures this year :p: We only have seminars. And my earliest is 10, but I'm an insomniac and never get to sleep before 3 or 4am, so having to get up at 7.30 for a 10am lecture is awful

Brushing brittle fingers at the sky
The tree shrugs off its winter coat
As it reaches for the sun
    Sap-tears fall, sparkle
    With reflections
    A forest trapped in amber
    Eternity in a second
Of joy as the tree shakes
Its head of new green hair
    Basking in the sun.

I saved this poem as 'For vin' :cute: Written in two minutes exactly :giggle:
    Trees don't wear coats

I spose actually they might do, but they'd be a coat of leaves and thus wear em in summer.

Why do trees take their clothes off in winter? Don't they get cold?

You guys came up with very odd subject matter :wtf: This is far from my best work, given the subjects and the short time frame, but here you go.

    A pointless button.

This was the most difficult, cos I didn't know whether you meant a button you press or one you sew.

    Button Crisis

    The pointless button
    Sits on my tabletop
Do I press it or sew it?
Will it blow up a country,
    Or brighten a blazer?
    It is waiting
    For someone who will know
    What to do
    Until that day comes
It is but a pointless button
Waiting to be pressed (or sewed)
And will be nothing else for me.

thanks for the vote of confidence :hmpf: Well, here it is, though nothing I write would please you

    Cinduckrella

    The little duckling
    Put her wellies on
And went out into the rain

    The other ducks
    On the pond
    Pointed and laughed

    “Why,” they asked
    “Are you wearing
    wellies?” The

    Little duck replied,
    “One day, I hope
    They will become

    Glass slippers.
    For now, I am
    Content with the

    Glaze of rain
    That makes them shine
    Like glass.”

    Cabbage.
    Yours was the weirdest.

    Ode to a forgotten cabbage

    The most hated of vegetables
(apart, of course, from brussel sprouts)
The cabbage is always the first
    To go brown and mouldy
    On the shop shelf.
    Fear not, cabbage!
    You still make good
