What brand of pill was it? If it was a POP, there's a higher chance of pregnancy, but if it was something like Microgynon, you should be fine.
As an aside, I do hope you've had STI tests with every new partner.

You should be okay, particularly if you started taking the pill on the first day of your period. If you didn't, did you leave 7 days between starting the pill and having unprotected sex?

According to the leaflet, it's best if you take it 'around the same time each day'. If you've taken it within an hour roughly it should be fine. It might be best to start trying to stick to a certain time each day though, if it worries you so much? I take mine at 8pm because I'm always in my house at that time, but if you work or something you could take it on your lunchbreak and you'll always remember. Just try to find something that works for you.

Chances are you're paranoid because you've just started using it. You could take a pregnancy test to put your mind at ease though.

As for the cat thing... err, what a shame?
