what would you do if your going to be staying in a room alone at uni? I'm really paranoid because I don't know how I would get them out of the room and I wouldn't be able to sleep in a room if there was a spider or anything in there

Is anyone else afraid of this?

Meh, I'm pretty scared of wasps. I can just about deal with them, but usually after a moment of panic  .

I've been worrying about this actually. Erm, maybe someone in a neighbouring room would take pity on you and get rid of it for you?

You know what spiders don't like? Flat bottomed shoes being hurtled towards them at rapid speeds. In fact, I know from experience that no bugs like this.

HINT: if the bug is on the floor, wear the shoe. If it is on the wall, do not wear the shoe while attemping pest control.

Take a fly swatter with you, they also work for squishing spiders.

In a whole flat on your own though? Like your own flat/house?

So you could go and get a flatmate to come and get it out of your room for you?

There's this thing that's called a spider catcher... I really have no idea where you get them from but I have one. I'm also freaked out by spiders and it really helped. Its basically a bunch of bristles and one end with a long-ish stick followed by a handle... just press the button and the bristles close around the spider then you can carry it out of your room or out the window. That's what is on the market now, the one I have is a prism sort thing with a stick, with a sliding door, place it on top of the spider/bug and slide the door. Problem solved
