Torn ligament?

Hi have really sore muscles from doing too much walking and playing squash vigerously at the weekend.

At first I thought I had just pulled a muscle, but now the back of my lower leg muscle is in A LOT of pain whenever I move it - does this suggest its a torn ligament or something?

I need to get to the doctors really but I don't live with parents, don't have a car, and can barely walk....so is there anything that can reduce the pain until I find a way to get to the docs?

Cheers

Actually - is there like an ambulance service that could come out to see me?

I don't want to be dialing 999 for something this trivial!

Ring NHS direct, they can talk you through things and see if you need to go to hospital or if its more of a GP situation.

DO NOT RING 999, as you said yourself... 999 is an EMERGANCY service and this isn't an emergancy!!

NB if it's a muscle injury it won't be a torn ligament - ligaments are joint related. It's possible you've done something to the tendon or the muscle itself, and I tend to ignore these things if I think they're just from over-exercising. If you're worried, get a GP appointment/go to A&E, though they may not be too hospitable to you there.

Meanwhile, try having a warm bath and massaging the affected muscle. Do you have any deep heat or similar? Keeping it as mobile as you can is important, don't overdo it, but stretch it gently if you can.

I am getting someone to make me a GP app. it's tricky because it is in a villiage I don't live in anymore so have to arrange lifts etc.

Just cancelled work at a place i am meant to be starting at tonight - the boss was a right **** to me on the phone..... i'm upset now.

well, he could either have a gimpy worker who couldn't walk or work, or he could just get someone more able in for the shift - ignore him. People get shirty when people cancel on them even if it's for good reason.

hmmm not just the way he spoke as if i was making it up, but it was supposed to be my first shift tonight and he kept asking if i'm sure I work for the company as my name wasnt familiar. He didn't even listen to what I was saying...I don't like getting off on the wrong foot with people :frown:
