Nottingham - Alternative music venues (e.g. Post-punk, Psych, Garage, Twee etc.) watch

    • Thread Starter

I'm off to Nottingham (with any luck) this year and want to work out what there will be to do in my free time. I'm near London and Brighton right now, which means there are loads of alternative style venues/clubs/clubnights to go to (e.g. The Dirty Water Club, Dice Club, God Don't Like it, and so on).

Are there any places or events that might tickle my fancy?

Rock City tend to have some quite decent bands playing (everything from Paulo Nuttini to Annotations of an Autopsy coming up), and regular club nights and whatnot ( http://www.rock-city.co.uk/new_site/club_nights.htm ), and Rescue Rooms is just next to that, and they tend to get decent people as well. There's also "Seven", which hosts mainly Metal (there may well be others I don't pay attention to there as well), and smaller places I know nothing about (Bodega Social Club etc.)
