    Hey,

I dug out the old MS Flight Sim 2004 with my joystick from years ago and gave it a go because of summer boredom. I know it's a simulator rather than a game but people must play it for recreation otherwise there are millions of aspiring pilots out there putting in work for no reason.

To the regulars who play it... how the hell do you like it? It's so dull. I took off, got on track, autopilot on for cruising altitude and then missed the runway by about 100m.

Yet I hear people playing this for like 15 hours a week...

Many people are interested in aviation, and like to be able to practice things such as instrument navigation and route planning when unable to fly.
Whilst I myself am not into aviation, I find practicing landings to be fun. There's also the opportunityt o mess about with aerobatics.

You have to really get into it, enjoy carrying out all the procedures the proper way, enjoy mastering cross-wind landings. It's quite challenging, actually, and things that challenge you often end up enjoyable, 'cause you know you've achieved something.

Flying is fun. That's all there is to it.

Then there are others...those who find simulations of menial jobs exciting. I recently commented on a Bus Simulator video and the guy's reasoning for being so excited about it was that it was because it is some people's life dream to be a bus or train driver, even as a kid and such.

    Riiiiiiiiight.
