Nervous about wearing a maxi dress watch

I've never really paid any attention to maxi dresses just because I thought they wouldn't suit me since I'm only small but I found a really nice one in Bay Trading (they don't have a website so I can't post a picture) but I feel a bit scared to wear it because its so colourful and not something I would normally wear.

I just wondered if anyone else felt like that about maxi dresses? Also, can they be worn for smart/casual occasions as long as you wear flat sandal shoes with them? I feel like I might look a bit overdressed but I always see people just shopping in town in maxi dresses.

    Thanks!

I wear mine to work (office job!) - it's a floor length black empire line maxi. I love it, I feels so feminine in it but smart too.

    Just go for it.

Try it Personally I think they look better with flats than heels, especially metallic or embellished ones.
