wow update list seems to be very good! Manager mode improvements, woop.

One annoying thing in Manager mode was that your own players were never in the top rated players list, even if they were top scorer etc... Your GK was always the lowest rated, even if he had the highest number of clean sheets and save percentage.

Also, does anyone else notice that the referee gets in the way of the ball quite a lot, it's quite frustrating when he screws up your attack.

CPU squad rotation is a good update, although it was funny playing against 11 players who have no energy at the start of the match .

Another thing in manager mode was when you bid for a player but it says 'the other team doesn't have enough players'. Really hope they have fixed that.

All in all, looks to be a good game Won't get to play on it much until christmas though probably, because of uni (damn growing up).

It would be nice if in Fifa 10 the players you loan out on Manager Mode, actually gain some experience, and get played + improve.

At the moment, they are getting jack.

This has been updated. The referee has been given a few more animations so he will let it run through his legs etc like refs in real life.

I'm just hoping they sort out the cards issue. I took a player down, last man, edge of my area and didn't even get booked. Now that is just ridiculous to be honest even if it was for my benefit :p:

Ah I also never put in my list (because it wasn't a very detailed one) that they have tried to phase out cut scenes in game such as the refs booking players, players arguing etc. The game will show the ref booking the player 'live' rather than cutting away. And they have also reintroduced 'quick free kick'.

Yeah the cards can be quite random, needs to be improved. If you're on the break and they don't have many defenders and you get taken down, most of the time it's just a free kick without a card.

Advantages was pretty annoying too, in that if you passed the ball afterwards the advantage was over, even if it goes to the other team. I hope this is fixed in the 'Improvements to the advantage rule'.

It's a feature that is going to be incorporated into the actual game from what I've seen. This years add-on was a kind of trial run.
Not sure about having to pay the extra few pounds so you can auction players though.

If I play against the Xbox I guarantee at least 1 of their players will be sent off and the rest will be booked, I hope they fix that.

So only a few weeks away from the release of the anual fifa game.

    Anyone excited?
    What you looking forward to?

    Yeah very excited to be honest, I think this will be the best FIFA yet - probably the best football game yet. Fifa 09 absolutely trolled PES everywhere, it was a real accomplishment. I'm hoping for;

Specialised 2v2 online games (PES had that)
Far more club & country teams, and licensing of existing ones e.g. Holland
Extra time and penalties on Be a Pro (the 10v10 thing) games
A manual passing system if possible

Also I heard about the 360 dribbling that they mentioned, can anyone elaborate?

yeah the game doesn't appreciate the last man/proffesional/cynical foul does it? because a mistimed trip using the pressure buttons gives a free kick and never ever a card, but a mis-timed slide is nearly always a card. It's very anti-slide tackle!

At the moment you can only turn in 8 different directions, which is usually why you run directly into a player and find it harder to run around a player, so the 360 dribbling actually allows you to move in 360 directions (like 360 degrees of the circle).

It will stop the game having a feeling of being 'on-rails' and make it look more realistic and fluid.

It doesn't really sound like it is a big deal but everyone who has played the games in an alpha state (very basic model of the future game) has said that it increases the quality of the game hugely and that going back to Fifa 09 feels like a massive step back and amuch worse game.

    So it all bodes well

I hope they make the PC version closer to the console version this time instead of having a game similar to Fifa 06/07/08, but I doubt it will happen :erm:

I can't wait for Fifa10 to be released but I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed with Fifa09. Before Fifa09 was released EA promised a lot of improvements but the game isn't so good, it seems more like a beta release. The commentary is bad and it doesn't correspond to what's happening on the pitch. EA should also include more sentences to make the commentary more interesting as in Fifa09 commentators repeat the same sentences over&over again throughout matches. I hope graphics and physics of the game will also be improved. What annoyed me in Fifa09 is that Santiago Bernabeu is presented by a generic stadium. When playing in the careers mode Real's Stadium Manager in only at level 6 while Barcelona's Stadium manager is at level 10. I think that EA were really biased, as Santiago Bernabeu is one of the best stadiums in the world and in my opinion more modern than the Camp Nou
On 14 November 2007, UEFA notified Real Madrid that they intended to include the Santiago Bernabéu in their list of Elite Stadiums. It was the best possible gift for a stadium that was one month short of turning 60. With this distinction, UEFA rewarded the Club for its outstanding investment and organisation.

more realistic transfers - ronaldinho and beckham both playing for stoke is a complete joke.
also stop the commentators saying "this team have a very similar style to Arsenal when they play" ...when I AM playing as Arsenal.

Can't wait for it. Some of us should make a TSR Fifa 10 Football league.

Say 10-15 of us in it. Play each other once or twice. But have a list of teams you can be. say 20 teams. And you can only use that team once and once only?
